Applied Practical Ultrasound Scanning

This four-day course is designed to provide participants with the necessary skills to effectively use an Ultrasound Scanning Machine for reproductive purposes in sheep. The course structure includes one day of theory and three days of practical training.

Day 1: Theory

  • Participants will engage in theoretical sessions covering the fundamentals of ultrasound scanning in sheep.
  • Topics covered may include ultrasound principles, reproductive anatomy of sheep, understanding ultrasound images, and interpreting reproductive abnormalities.

Day 2-4: Practical Training

  • Participants will engage in hands-on practical sessions to apply the knowledge gained during the theory day.
  • Under the guidance of experienced instructors, participants will practice using the Ultrasound Scanner on live sheep to identify and diagnose reproductive problems.
  • Practical training will include techniques for pregnancy detection, dating pregnancies, identifying twins, and recognizing reproductive abnormalities.
  • Participants will have the opportunity to gain proficiency in using the scanner and develop their skills through repeated practice and feedback from instructors.
