Phase 1 Foundation Palpation Training (FPT)*

This four-day course is designed to develop skills in palpation of the cow (no ultrasound scanner is used). Participants will engage in palpation of cows using the hand to identify and understand open cows, pregnant cows and identify structures on the ovaries.

Phase 3 Applied Practical Ultrasound Scanning (APUS)***

Dunmasc Genetics Ballycarroll, Co. Laois

This is a three-day course designed to develop participants’ skills in the visual learning of the ultrasound scanner. Throughout this course, participants will examine reproductive tracks to identify ovaries, follicles, CLs and other identifiable features using an ultrasound scanner.

Theory Ultrasound Scanning

All participants must have previously completed an AI course or a one-day refresher. If participants have not completed an AI course, they must complete an AI training course with Dúnmasc Genetics. Our training course is charged at normal rates, while our refresher is charged at normal refresher day rates.

Phase 3 Applied Practical Ultrasound Scanning (APUS)***
